'Burnt offering' in the Bible
And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before God.
And you shall burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet aroma, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
And you shall receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet aroma before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto you.

And he made the altar of burnt offering of acacia wood: five cubits was the length of it, and five cubits the breadth of it; it was foursquare; and three cubits the height of it.
And you shall set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.
And you shall anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all its utensils, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy.
And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the grain offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.
